A FavIcon is the tiny graphic displayed to the left of a URL in the address bar of your browser and in the tab displayed in the browser. Many sites or blog just have a generic icon provided and in my case I have been using my own graphic icon. A custom icon can help your site stand out from the crowd a little. Watch video below:
In the video, when you first activate the plugin you will be asked to register it which signs you up to an email list which you then have to confirm your subscription to. Upon clicking the confirmation link you are then directed to a page that is trying to sell you some blog traffic package. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page to select “no thanks”.
The MaxBlogPress Plugin
The plugin that makes this so easy is called MaxBlogPress. That page is a little bit like a sales letter, showing you not only how to install the plugin but doing a very good job of exaplaining exactly why you would want to.
Good luck and have a nice favicon.
